About the New York Lottery

New York was one of the first states to offer lottery games. The New York Lottery launched in 1967, promising to use the revenue to fund education. The lottery's proceeds continue to fund New York K-12 schools. Since the lottery started, it's raised billions of dollars for education.

The lottery offers a variety of draw and scratch-off games. The daily draw games of Numbers and Win 4 are among the most popular, based on ticket sales. Since 2009, the multi-state games Powerball and Mega Millions have also been available in New York.
